Composition means how the layout of the subject or objects are placed also where you place the subject in the frame.
These images from photographer Perou are very different but very similar at the same time. They are the same by how everything is in a certain place and that they are where they are meant to be. However they are different by Perou as he has considered the light in the bottom one as you can see the outline of the tree by the shadow. These photos show composition as Perou could have adjusted the tree to be in the middle and the girl on the left and for the one at the top he could have put the lady on the right but decided to have it on the left.
