A summary of John Hedgecoe

This summary is about John Hedgecoe and these bullet points explain his style, technique, narrative and context.

  •  John Hedgecoe's style is elegant, however is irregular this is because he captures a range of posed shots and close ups of artists.
  • One Technique John uses is taking close ups of people which are just of the top half of their body, and not there legs. Also a technique is using a digital camera and trying to use natural lighting.
  • In John Hedgecoe's photographs - some of them have narrative, which means what is the story behind the photo.
  • The narrative of the pictures are what the 'models/peoples' body language is, their facial expressions and what the background is like in each picture.
  • The context of his work is what the photograph actually means. However we don't really know what the right meaning is, we just look and think about what the photographer wants to show.
